Biography

I am a Chemical Engineer with focus in Environmental Toxicology. I have worked in both the private and government sectors of Liberia in key leadership roles, from serving as the health sector focal point for chemical safety to being the Laboratory Manager of the National Environmental Health Reference Laboratory, National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL). Additionally, I am proud of my significant contributions as a leader, teacher, and researcher to the education system of Liberia. My goal is to help develop the scientific research capacity of Liberia to an internationally recognizable standard, especially in the area of environment health and toxicology. Liberia has been affected not only by economic hardship and the civil wars, but also by climate change and industrial activities that contaminate the ecosystem of the country. It is my belief that evidence from scientific research can be used to address the increased burden of diseases from the environment.
